20th Century Experience
The Wall Paintings Workshop has been involved in number of interesting early 20th century ecclesiastical schemes as well as fascinating schemes in domestic settings.

20th century decorative schemes are often notable for their innovative use of new materials. Tandridge church in Surrey includes a mural executed in oil pastels, that at Great Warley employ aluminium leaf and the Watts Chapel at Compton includes rope that has been gessoed, gilded and glazed. John Spencer Churchill painted onto carved slate panels at his uncle Winstons house, Chartwell. At a private house in Overton sketches for the original owner by Lutyens survived under wallpaper.
